Wow, I had to get up this morning, get ready on time and drive in traffic! It was like having a job all over again. Oh well, I guess these three days will be a good reminder of why I chose to work at home.
Jim Morris, from NicheBot, greeted me and I was introduced to the other 2 contest winners.
They started on time and there was a good turnout. About 120 attendees, I think. It's amazing how many people sign up, pay and then don't attend these events.
Unfortunately, Tellman Knudson couldn't attend, so they had a last minute substitution and he was great!! More on him later.
The first presentation was a dual presentation by Stu McLaren and Russell Brunson - both pretty big names in Internet Marketing. Later in the program, they each gave their own presentation, so I will go into more detail about them then.
The first presentation was called The 24 Hour Affiliate, a step-by-guide on what you need to do to make your first commission in 24 hours. Obviously, some of the steps take longer than an hour, but it was a great guide to go by.
One of my main problems has been what to create for a freebie to get an opt-in to my newsletter. Some of my niches are difficult for me to think of things and I hate giving out the same re-hashed PLR stuff. They gave some great tips and resources for this and it really got my wheels churning! And of course, the main question to ask yourself about your giveaway: Would I opt-in for this giveaway?
The main point all the speakers hit upon throughout the whole affiliate marketing seminar was: If you plan to grow, don't expect to be doing everything yourself. This is perhaps my biggest problem area. I've only just recently started to outsource the article writing on a limited basis, but I really need to do more.
There was a break after that and I went and chatted around and handed out some business cards. I'm hoping to get some of the attendees to post some comments here about their experience here, too. You don't want to hear just MY opinion, do you?
On to the next presenter…
